046 ; 049 An immense hollow, surrounded on all sides by high hills, bold and precipitous cliffs, and separating the mountain range of Ben Avon from Beinn a' Bhuird; A large stream runs through it which is fed by innumerable rivulets. This place is said to be a favourite resort of the Deer during the time of rearing their young, hence the name the Rearing or Nursing Hollow.

046 ; 049 A large stream which rises in Garbh Choire, at the head of Slochd an Àraich, and traversing near the centre of that hollow falls into the River Avon. It is named after the hollow through which it passes - the Stream of the Den or Hollow.
