006.05 A large natural tunnel or underground passage on the coast formed by the action of the Waves. - During Storms from the north, the Spray issues from the east end of this Cavern, like Smoke from a Chimney.
"As might be supposed, amongst such gigantic masses of rocks, there are several caves along the Coast; and among others of inferior note, two in the neighbourhood of Troup deserve particular notice. The first is about fifty fathoms deep, 60 long, and 40 broad, from which there is a subterraneous passage to the sea, about 80 yards long, through which waves are driven with great violence in a northern storm, and occasion a smoke to ascend from the den. Hence it has got the name of Hell's Lum."
