010 The object which bears this name is evidently artificial East [side of] which is now nearly defaced [] caused by improvements. it [lies] on the South Side of a Steep Glen and would no doubt when [] present a peculiar appearance.
It is Known [by] merely a few persons in [the] immediate vicinity and [is] considered by them to [be] connected with similar Specimens of Antiquity n[] CastleKnow at KilrusKen [and] Castle Hill near Glenside.
Aitken in [his Map] of Kilbride Styles it Ravine [Fort] which is a proof that it [was] pointed out to him as an [object of] Antiquity.

Mr Archibald Barbour the Farmer of Bushglen states that some years ago his father commenced to cart away the soil from the Mounts but when the proprietor John Crawfurd Esqr heard of the affair he would not allow it to be defaced which goes to prove its identity as something connected with the antiquities of the parish.
Archibald Barbour further States that the only thing found in his remembrance was a cut Stone of nice workmanship, the appearance of the herbage at all times is different from anything adjoining.
