006 A Steep prominent hill of the East side of and adjoining the ruins of Southannan, it has derived its name from the fact of Several rocks in the hill from which Curious pebbles or bastard diamonds have been got. I procured several Specimens of the stones when on the ground.
An URN CONTAINING ASHES AND HUMAN BONES FOUND HERE [Diamond Hill] 006 On the Summit of the hill about 5 years ago an Urn was found Containing Ashes of burnt bones together with human bones several teeth being perfect, the urn was found when in the course of being exhumed but there are two of the pieces curiously now in the possession of Mrs Hendry of Southannan Mains.
