034 A Small hamlet Consisting of five cot houses, one public house a toll house and a corn mill, in all eleven tenements. The houses are all one Storey & with two exceptions thatched and in good repair - Property of John Bell Esqr. Enterkine. Derivation from a mill having stood here and some houses.

034 A large and rapid Stream which rises from Surface water in Glenbuck, Ph. [Parish] of MuirKirk and after a course of about 30 miles into the Sea at the town of Ayr. For a few miles of its Course at first it is only a Small Stream but being joined by the Greenock and Garpal - two of its principal tributaries - it becomes considerable. The last twenty Miles of its Course is bounded, principally, by Steep banks mostly wooded. A few fertile holms are interspersed along its Margins. In its bed is found a kind of Claystone well Known by the name of "Water of Ayr Stone" said to be a good Whetstone.
