Since that period it has undergone a great many repairs - principally in 1823 at which time it was nearly wholly rebuilt. So that scarcely a vestige of the old building now remains. Presently it is capable of containing about six hundred people - is two storeys high - & had a small burying ground attached to it. |

** an ancient inscription may be traced on a square tablet indented in the
wall of the church; from the date it would appear to have been executed in
1595." Wyllies Ayrshire Streams (1851)

& enlarged about twelve years ago" Statistical Acco't [Account] (1842)

came to be called after its patron Saint - Saint Kevoc supposed to be derived from 'Saint

before the Reformation" Patterson's History of Ayrshire (1847)
