006 | "An extensive tract of ornamental grounds, finely wooded, and lying along the Coast for a distance of about 2 miles. Tradition has it that the plantations in this Park are laid out so as to represent the Battle of Largs. Some also are of opinion they were laid out to represent the Battle of Fontenoy in which the Earl of Glasgow was engaged. Towards the northern extremity of this park is Kelburn, an ancient building, and the occasional residence of the Earl of Glasgow (Signed) J. Byrne C.A--. |
