053 | A rapid rocky Stream flowing out of the South end of Loch Muick in a Southerly direction forming the County boundary between Ayrshire and Kirkcudbright for about half mile, it retains this name no further South than where it takes a Sudden turn westward to Loch Doon. Originally this Stream went by Carsphairn it was artificially turned into Loch Doon - from this artificial Cut or turn it gets the name of Moak Burn into Loch Doon. - |
