[South] West walls are still standing to the height of 3 storeys the remaining [walls] are nearly level with the ground. The remains of a spiral staircase is still [able to be] seen. It appears to have [been] well defended all round. A [steep] Slope & the Water of Girvan [secure] it on the the S. [South] & east sides, [while] the remains of a thick stone [turret] wall appears to have defended it on the North & West sides The walls are nearly 3 feet in thickness. |
