050 A narrow ridge of slightly elevated land bounding on the North [part] of the main entrance to Kilkerran from the West, a few patches of wood crown its sides & summit. It is said to have derived its name from a woman named Meg McClintock who kept a public house at its Western Base And who was accustomed to assemble her female companions on the hill to gossip over the news of the day, for which she liberality sent round her Whisky Bottle. Property of Sir James Ferguson Bart. [Baronet].
