050 All that remains of this old house [is] a part of the South wall 11 feet [long ] & 3 feet in thickness. It stands on the north bank of the River Girvan, about 1/2 mile North East of Dalquharran Castle, and, 40 yards fr [from] the water's edge; The remaining part of the foundation can be distinctly traced A few old Sycamore trees [having] a sombre [array] around the [ruins] of this old building: property [of] |Sir James Ferguson

050 A broad and rapid stream which rises on the western side of the Shalloch on [Munnock] Hill flows North & East through several beautiful Lochs then N.W. [North West] S. [South] West passing in its course the villages of Straiton & Crosshill until it enters the valley of the Girvan at the junction of Lady Burn with it. In its course through Dailly Parish it passes several elegant seats; which are Kilkerran, Dalquharran Bargany, with several old Castles on its banks and finally empties itself into the sea at Girvan Its [many] tributaries in Dailly Parish are Lady Burn, Baldrunnan Burn, Lindseyston Burn & various others.
