A small mossy hill with a Trigl.[Trigonometrical.] station on its [summit] property of Sir James Ferguson. It signifies "The hill in the loch", but the signification is not descriptive. A loch, now dry, was formerly situated on the summit of the hill - Lochinknockie would be descriptive. The former, however, is the only name given to it. -
