[Reverend] Mr. Russell is Minister). The interior is well [--] up with pews and galleries sufficientlt commodious for about 1150 sitters. Mr. Greenlees & Macintosh say that it is handed down by tradition that this church is built upon the site of an ancient Castle, hence the name "Castlehill Church". "There are 2 parish Churches in one of which Gaelic is preached & in the other English. The former is capable of accommodating 2000 sitters & the latter or Castle Church situated where once stood a Castle of the Lord of the Isles contains 1000 to 1200. New Stat Acct.
