A Lighthouse an[d] dwellinghouses for the Keeper[s] are on this island, Previous to the Establishment of a Lighthouse here, the whole island was a slate quarrie, but from it's position in the Centre og the Channel, & from vessels Continu[ally] running ashore upon it, it was deem[ed] necessary by the Commissioner of Northern Lighthouses, to establish a Lighthouse upon it. It is now then present. The Lighthouse has a fixed Red & White light. It is in the parish of Jura. |
