This Island lies east & west parallel with the South east Side of Canna, between which two is a Splendid Harbour for vessels at the time of a Storm. There is no School on this Island but there is one to be erected Soon under the New act. The population is about 60 in number the most of whom are of the Catholic denomination attending the Chapel on the Island of Canna. This Islet is in the Parish of Small Isles County of Argyll. the |

[North West] Side of the Island of Rum, & about twenty miles west of the South end of the Island of Skye. The inhabitants of this Island are few, about forty, & are all of the Roman Catholic denomination. There is a Small Chapel on the Island "the property of the proprietor D. McNeil Esqr." which contains about 80 Sittings attended by Alexander Gilles Priest of Eigg & is in the Diocess of Bishop Eyre, administrator apostolic of the western district Glasgow. Patron:- D. McNeil Esq of Canna. This Island is in the parish of Small Isles County Argyll. |
