212 About 10 chains south of Baun are situated on an eminence the remains of a fort or watch tower, the wall is ditinctly traceable, is of an oval form about 50 feet in length and 30 ft in breadth, and about 8 ft thick. The entrance at the north extremity being defended by a small outwork. Mr McDougall is of the opinion that this, & others northward, were used as Signal stations, or towers.
