GO [Gaelic orthography]
138 This name is applied to the spot on which the above Church is built. It is supposed to be the site of an old Chapel, and is known by the natives as Tigh an Urnuighe or House of Prayers.
"The ruins of two religious houses can still be traced Of one of these indeed few vestiges remain. It stood near the shore a little to the north east of the present Church and from its being called by the natives a house of prayer it seems to have been a popish oratory."
