011 | This fine specimen of an old baronial mansion was formally a seat of the Earl of Errol, it was purchased from James Earl of Erroll, in 1763, by Peter Garden Esqr. of Troup, and afterwards by the late James, Earl of Fife in 1798, and is now the property of Ainslie Douglas Ainslie Esqr. It stands on the west bank of a valley the eastern verge of which abruptly rises into a hill, covered with Wood.
