011 An Urn containing Human Remains found here, A.D.1805, by one John Duncan while carting bravel out of a small natural hillock,well know by the name of "Roundie Law". This hillock, local tradition says, is supposed to have been formerly a seat of the baronial court, hence the name.

011 About twenty chains North East of the farm of Upper Smiddyseat, were to be seen a large sepulchral mound, 6 or 8 yards in Diameter, and upwards of 4 feet high, and in the centre of it there was a considerabel quantity of Wood ashes - about 35 years ago this Tumulus was difaced and levelled down by Alexander Smith Balmellie Crofts
