is supplied with good water from a cistern situate about a quarter of a mile west of the Parsonage, Water taps are placed in the various streets. The Fraserburgh branch of the Great North of Scotland Railway skirts the eastern extremity of the village at which there is a Station. 013 A street forming the principal thoroughfare of the above village, and extending from the Railway Station to West Street. It is also known as Mid Street. Mr Mackie states that in 1803 Lord Lovat (the then proprietor) had boards bearing the names High Street, North Street, South Street and Bridge Street, placed on the respective Corners, but having fallen into decay are now obliterated.
