039 ; 048 A parish in the Eastern district of Buchan, Aberdeenshire, is bounded on the north by Cruden Parish on the East by the German Ocean South by Foveran, and on the west by Foveran and Logie Buchan Parishes. It is of a triangular shape and measures from North to South about 6½ miles, and from East to West from 3 to 4 miles, tapering to about half of a mile at the Southern extremity. Fullarton in his Gazetteer of Scotland says "A parish containing the villages of Collieston and old Castle at the South eastern extremity of Buchan, Aberdeenshire. Its port town is Ellon 6 miles to the West. Its surface in a general sense is all low yet is much diversified by wells in every part, by a range of small eminences called the Kippet Hills.
