023 A neat stone building erected in 1849 and used as a school for boys and girls. Commonly called the Free Church Seminary. The average attendance of boys is about 65. Mr. Thomas Bell Teacher. The Female department is presided over by Miss Comrie, teacher, and two Pupil-teachers. The average attendance is about 200. The usual branches of English Education are creditably taugh [taught], also Classics, needlework drawing etc. to a considerable extent. The teachers are Certificated teachers and has the usual Government allowance etc. etc.
