The late Rev. [Reverend] J.B. Pratt 031 Applies to a hollow through which the Water of Cruden runs. situated about a half a mile west of the farm of Humblecairn.

031 These Cairns are situated on the north slope of the Den of Adendraught. There is ten cairns to be seen at this place quite entire. They are not of very large dimensions. The late Revd. Dr.[Reverend Doctor] Pratt said that it was supposed the "Battle of Cruden" which began near the "Bay of Cruden", between the Scots & Danes ended here.
