021 While one of the crofters of King's Crown was taking his croft in from heather, he removed a lot of flat stones just below the surface, they were placed in squares of from six to twelve feet, and some of them had large flat stones which exhibited marks of fire. The Revd. [Reverend] Mr. Rankin says they were the remains of Pictish Houses.
