037 There can be distinctly traced at this spot, what is supposed to have been a Roman Catholic place of worship, not when it was built, or what was the dedicatory name of it cannot be ascertained on the ground. It is Surrounded by a graveyard in which the graves may yet be distinctly traced.

The foundations of a small chapel are to be seen on a farm which still retains the name of Chapelhouse. They are surrounded by a place of interment, in which there is the appearance of many graves, and two bodies have been buried there within the memory of the present generation. The baptismal font remains, and a well enclosed with rude mason work, which was formerly dedicated to the Virgin; it is called to this day "The Lady Well."

037 A small spring of water, formerly dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and used as a holy well for the chapel close by, it is enclosed with masonry, but is in a ruinous state.

It was much frequented in the month of May, by the country people, especially for the Head-ache. (McFarlanes Collections) M.S. [Manuscript].
