008 In graveyard immediately adjoining the Manse are the remains of the old parish church, composed of a small portion of the wall, about 10ft [feet] long and 8ft. [feet] high, here stood the church after its removal from St. Combs. A Stone in end of the remains bears the following inscription. "This house was built for the worship of God by the parish of Lonmay 1607. Mr. Thomas Rires being Minr. [Minister] their and 3 years before at the Old Church" ++&c.
