022 Applies to an arched gateway leading to the old Church of Longside, it is about 11 ft [feet] in height to the spring of the arch and about 5 1/2 feet in thickness, it is supposed to have been the place where the elders stood on Sundays to gather the pence from the congregation.
Dr. [Doctor] Pratt's Buchan "The Lych Gate at the entrance of the Churchyard of which there are now but few examples in Scotland, is an object of considerable interest to the student in Ecclesiology."
