GRAVE YARD (Disused) [nr Ratchhill] | Grave Yard Grave Yard Grave Yard |
Mr G. Cruickshank Mr J. Christie Mr Alexander Watt |
054 | A small circular enclosure, which was formerly used as a burying place by the Roman Catholics in this district, the last internment is said to have taken place about 80 years ago, a circumstance which is remembered by a person still alive, there is no trace of grave stones, the enclosure being now thickly wooded. It is very probable that a chapel has stood somewhere near this grave yard at some remote period, but of this there is no certainty, more supposition only. |
