It rises in the parish of Gartly in the district of Strathbogie; flows 4⅓ miles eastward, through that parish, and between Inch and Culsalmond on the south, and Drumblade and Forgue on the north; proceeds 4⅓ miles southward and south-eastward through Culsalmond, to a union with the Shervock; runs 2¾ miles, between Oyne on the southwest and Rayne and Chapel of Garioch on the northeast, to a union with the Gadie; and then moves 8 miles sinuously, but chiefly south eastward, through Chapel of Garioch, and between that parish and Keith-hall on its left bank, and the parish of Inverury on its right, to the Don a little below the royal burgh of Inverury. For about a mile and a half of its length it divides the parishes of Inverury and Keith Hall and Kinkell. |
