020 This name is by mistake termed Roger's Grave in "Pratts Buchan," no such name being well known as Roger's Grave, Edgar's Grave is a well known boundary name between two properties viz 'the Lands of Gight and Mains of Fyvie'. The name has its origin from the following incident. A dispute arose long ago between the Lairds of Gight and Mains of Fyvie respecting the march separating their lands and Edgar having persisted in stating that this spot was the proper boundary between the 2 lairds:- 'Gight got angry and in a passion, said he would make Edgar a land or Boundary Mark; & immediately shot him at this place, and buried here
