003 This range is situated close to the high water mark, and extends in a North westerly direction from the Target. They fire from 50 to 300 yards. but they have to measure the distances almost every time they fire, as the sand is continually shifting and in consequence the marks get obliterated.

003 The authorities mentioned hereon are of opinion that the "Old Church of Philorth" stood close to the Vault, in the old grave yard on the links. In fact the Revd. [Reverend] Mr Presly says that when he was a boy, he has often heard of the grave digger coming on portions of the foundation of this old Church when digging graves.
