065 A small wooded Knoll situated north of, and close to Boat of Hatton farmsteading. When the proprietors of the barony held the power of life and death in their hands, it was on this spot that criminals were executed. A skull was found here by the farmer during the construction of a road round the base of the Knoll to give easier access to the adjoining fields. Property of Sir William Forbes, Bart. [Baronet].

065 Originally a deep pool, but now filled in and containing no water except during floods, when the waters of the river Don sometimes reach it. Used in connection with Gallow Hill for the execution of criminals and to test the guilt or innocence of supposed witches. Situated west of Boat of Hatton Farm and near the junction of a small stream with the river Don.
