When the proprietors of the barony held the power of life and death in their hands, it was on this spot that criminals were executed. A skull was found here by the farmer during the construction of a road round the base of the Knoll to give easier access to the adjoining fields. Property of Sir William Forbes, Bart. [Baronet]. |
