045 In the year 1832, James Marr a laborer in Daviot, dug up at this spot a Battle-axe, supposed to have been a relic of the celebrated Battle of Harlaw. It is in the possession of John MacKenzie Esq. of Glack, but is now so much corroded as to be past recognition as a weapon or instrument of any sort.
It was from James Marr's description that the Minister of the Parish wrote his notice of it in the Statistical Account of Aberdeenshire.
