031 The parish Church is a fine substantial building, it was erected in the year 1777, on the site of a much older church; there is a stone in the graveyard marked 1702. Mr. Ross thinks it was an Episcopal Church which stood here before the present one was erected.
The Revd. [Reverend] Mr. Ross says that there was a very old church stood here at one time, and to strengthen this opinion, there are at present in the Grave Yard a lot of Toomb stones with a much older date on them, than that on the Church.
