A large burn running Southward and varying from 10 to 20 links in width it gets this name from where Allt Coire na Fhreumh & Allt Ru na Cuileag, join until it falls into the River Gairn, at the E. [East] end of the farm of Sleach. It is about 60 chains in length.

The Ph [Parish] Boundary between Glenmuick & Strath Don passes over its Summit. The name Signifies the Carn of the [Tetherstake ?].
