Mr R. Gordon Farmer Gordonstown
Rev: [Reverend] John Minto Clatt
Mr Garrie Gamekeeper Knockespock
043 In February last (1866) when Mr. Gordon of Gordonstown was digging sand for road purposes he discovered an Urn firmly embedden in the sand containing burned bones but he unfortunately broke it in digging it up.

This urn was discovered about 2½ feet from the surface. It contained a quantity of burnt bones, and also an oval shaped cup, resembling a sugar basin, four inches in diameter and one and a half in depth. Unfortunately this cup was also broken; but it appears to have been made of different clay from the urn. Near to where the Urn was found Mr. Gordon also came upon several deposits of calcined bones, & in one place these had been covered with flat stones.
