043 An extremely plain building erected by the heritors of the Parish in the year 1640. It is built on the site of and with part of the Ruins of the original Church. In former times it was a Roman Catholic Church dedicated to St Moloch and in the see of Aberdeen, the Minister being a Prebend of that Cathedral. in the Grave yard there lies part of a Font supposed to have been used in the Church previous to the Reformation. The Church is now seated to contain about 490 persons; in the burial ground surrounding the Church there are many very old tombstones as also some very fine modern ones of polished granite. The Revd [Reverend] John Walker is the Minister.
