016 | A Sum of Money was left by one Robert Daun, a blacksmith for the purpose of erecting School buildings, to pay a Teacher & to educate 9 children, free. After erecting the buildings a Sum of £770.12.6 was left, which the Trustees, nominated in Daun's Will, viz, The Minister of Cairnie Parish; the Minister of Huntly Parish & the District Factor to His Grace the Duke of Richmond - invested in the 3 per cent Consols at 91¼, thereby acquiring the Sum of £850 Stock; the Income from this, together with School fees from all over the 9 children to be taught free is the whole revenue of the School.
