082 The old building, known by this name, stood in the Village of Aboyne; opposite the present hotel. There is now nothing remaining of it. The site has been pointed out to the Exm. [Examiner] by some of the oldest inhabitants, who recollect having seen it used as a porter lodge, before the present approach to Aboyne Castle was made.

082 A first class Railway station, situated in the south-east end of the village. It is a terminus just now; but probably ere the Plans are published, the extension to Ballater will be completed.

Site of Tolbooth. The sites of the Pot and Gallows, noticed in the new Statistical Account, can not
be pointed out to the examiner. It is probable that Gibbet Stone is the two objects
here alluded to, as the stone has a large hole in it.
