I Robert Maughan Assessor & Surveyor Aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon Careful
examination of the Foregoing Rates & Duties I find they Amount in the whole to Seven
hundred &Twenty Nine Pounds Ten Shillings Sterling and that upon the Twentieth Day
of December Seventeen Hundred & Eighty Eight years I delivered to Mr George McQueen Collr. [Collector]
of the Said Duties for the City of Edin [Edinburgh] an exact Duplicate of the Foregoing Accompt
Duly examined & Compared which contained my Oath that Notices or requisitions were
left with the Several Inhabitants or at their Dwelling Houses of Dates annexed
to their respective names
