I George Ballantyne Assessor, appointed by the Commissioners of Supply in the County of Roxburgh,
having according to their appointment made a Survey over the whole County find that the Servants subject
to the payment of the Duty Taxed by the late act of Parliament are all mentioned and contained in the particular
lists thereof wrote upon the three preceeding pages, which contains the Names of the Gentlemen they Served [in]
the County, the names of the Servants Taxed and their different Employments with the Duty annexed to each
Servants Name From the 5th of July One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Seven To the Twenty fifth
of March One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Eight, being an Exact Duplicate of that sent to
Collecter of the said Tax for the County aforesaid. Amounting in whole to the Sum
Forty Five Ponds Fifteen Shillings Sterling.
