ABBEY CHURCH, PAISLEY.

Allocation and division of Sittings which former-
ly belonged to the Estate of Hawkhead and now apportioned
among the present Proprietors.
This allocation has been regulated by the rules
followed in 1862, when the whole of the sittings in the
Church were allocated among the Heritors according to the
Old Scotch Valuation of their lands.
Stanely having a distinct Valuation has been kept
separate from Hawkhead and in the same way Hillhead and
Ingliston.
The best pew has been selected for the Heritor
having the largest Valuation as a Family pew, the others
following in succession until an Heriotors' Valuation does
not represent a whole pew.
