1814.Sept.30 | The Committee appointed to make up a New Valuation Roll of the Stew- | ||
artry, at their Meeting on 9th September, 1814, were of opinion that | |||
this division of the Estate of Netherlaw was illegal, and ultra vires of | |||
the Commissioners, because the whole of that Estate belonged at the | |||
time to one Proprietor; and therefore the Committee authorized the | |||
Clerk of Supply to overlook the Division, and to enter the Valuation of | |||
the Estate of Netherlaw in the New Roll in the same manner as it stood | |||
in the Roll made up on the 14th day of June, 1799; and the proceed- | |||
ings of the Committee were ratified and confirmed by the unanimous de- | |||
cision of a General Meeting of the Commissioners of Supply for the | |||
Stewartry, held at Kirkcudbright, on the 30th day of September, 1814. | |||
