At Stonehaven the Thirtieth day of April One thousand Eight hunderd
and one years.

We Alexander Burnett of Strachan and John Brand of Laurieston Esquires a quorum
of the Committee of Commissioners of Supply of the County of Kincardine Appointed by the
General Meetings of the 30th. April 1799 and 30th. April last for the purposes of getting made
out, comparing and authenticating a new Book or Roll of the valued rents of the said
County; - Having this day met here and carefully examined and compared the foregoing Roll
or Account of the valued rents of the County of Kincardine, contained on this and the
twenty eight preceding pages, made out and compiled, at our desire, from the former
valuation book of the County, and other Records of the Commissioiners of Supply, by John
Burnett writer in Stonehaven Joint Collector of the Cess for the said County:- We find
the same Just, True and Correct in every Respect; And in virtue of the powers committed
to us by the General Meetings above mentioned We hereby authenticate the same by
adhibiting our subscriptions to each page thereof. All which is reported to the
General Meeting of the Commissioners of Supply held here this day.

Extract from the Minute Book of the Commissioners of Supply of the County of Kincardine relating
to the New Valuation book of the Lands, Fishings and others in that County.
At Stonehaven the thirtieth day of April One thousand eight hundred and one years. At a General Meeting
of the Commissioners of Supply for the County of "Kincardine held in terms of the Land tax act and in
consequence of advertisements by the Sheriff - Present - Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, Alexander
Burnett of Strachan, George Carnegie of Pittarrow, Theophilous Ogilvy of Auchlouries, Joseph Stratton
of Kirkside, John Donald present Master of Mortifications, Robert Tower Master of G.B. [Guild Brethren] Hospital, Arthur
Farquhar conveener of the trades, all of the City of Aberdeen, Robert William Duff of Fetteresso, John Brand
of Laurieston, Andrew Mackay of Skaetraw, James Melles of Newhall, George Silver of Ballandro
Andrew Thomson of Banchory, William Carnegie yor. [younger] of Cookston, John Innes of Castlehill, John
Douglass of Tillquhilly John Innes of Cowie Robert Barclay Allardice of Ury John Taylor of
Kirktonhill, Thomas McComby of Gellybrands, Revd. [Reverend] Patrick Stuart of Hilton, William Nicol of
Fendon, George Robertson Scott of Benholm. The said Alexander Burnett of Strachan chosen
Præses.
[A] new Cess or Valuation book of the whole valued rents of the lands in the County having been made out as appointed
[by] the General Meetings of the county of the thirtieth April Seventeen hundred and ninethy nine and thirtieth April
Eighteen hundred years by and under the direction of the Committees to whom the same was remitted by
[the]se Meetings and this new valuation Book having been subscribed and authenticated on each page thereof by
Alexander Burnett of Strachan and John Brand of Laurieston two and a quorum of said Committee, with
[the] attestation and report subjoined thereto also signed by them having been laid before the Meeting
[for] their sanction and authority, The Meeting sustained and hereby sustain and approve of the said New Valuation
Book Interpone their Authority thereto and Appoint Decern and Ordain the same to be probative and bear faith
and evidence in all time coming & that the land tax and other public burdens be imposed levied collected and recovered
[co]nform thereto in future untill altered by proper authority a short note or minute of such alteration being
[en]tered therein by and signed by the Clerk who is hereby authorised and empowered to do so accordingly.
