The lands of Conhess and Auchenbedrig, are valued in cumulo at 400 merks.
But by an Act of the Commissioners of Supply, bearing date 1st October 1782, the cumulo valuation of the said lands was divided, and appointed to be stated as follows, viz.
Solwaybank, Conhess, Auchenbedrigg, and others, belonging to William Pulteney, Esq; of Solwaybank, at 390.0.0
Blackcroft, belonging to David Armstrong of Kirkletown, at 10.0.0
Ancient cumulo valuation 400.0.0
The six merkland of Dininbie, 225.0.0
Walstoune's lands that pertained to Kirkhouse, 60.0.0
The half of the half merkland of Blackwood or Blacklands, was included in the cumulo valuation with the ten merkland that pertained to Kirkconnell, under the united parishes of Hoddom, Luce, and Ecclefechan. But by Act of the Commissioners, 30th August 1774, is disjoined from the said cumulo, and appointed to be stated at the rate of 3.6.8
Summa of these parishes is five thousand and two merks, three shillings and four pennies Scots, 5002.3.4
VALUATION OF ESKDALE
At the time the Valuation Book was made up in May 1671, Eskdale consisted of the following parishes, viiz. Westerkirk, Cannobie and Mortone, Staplegordone, Ewes, and Wauchope.
But about the beginning of the present century, part of Staplegordon was thrown into Westerkirk, and that was erected into two parishes,
Called WESTERKIRK and ESKDALEMUIR.
The remainder of Staplegordone, with Wauchope, and half of Mortone, were erected into one parish, to be called LANGHOLM,
And CANNOBIE, with the other half of Mortone,
And EWES, remained as before.
WESTERKIRK and ESKDALEMUIR.
The particular lands in these parishes are not precisely known, but the whole are believed to be as follows, viz.
The Duke of Buccleugh's haill rent, feu duty, and teind, in the old parish of Westerkirk, as it stood on May 1671, extend to 10748.0.0
Westerhall's lands, viz. the lands of Midghill and Offghills, formerly belonging to Westerhall, thereafter to Adam Elliot, 900.0.0
The lands of Rig, belonging to Westerhall, 300.0.0
Burnfoot, belonging to him, 150.0.0
The lands of Craiks, 115.0.0
The rest of Westerhall's lands, 1050.0.0
Heychester's lands of Overcausey, 700.0.0
The lands of Midleknow and Grassyeards, 400.0.0
Syntoune, to be included in the foregoing and following articles,
Raeburn's lands of Raeburn, Raeburnhead, and Yettbyre, 1760.0.0
Rennelburn's lands. 1400.0.0
The lands that pertained to Tuffillaw, 587.6.8
The lands that pertained to Sir Francis Scott of Thirlestane, 1000.0.0
The lands of Tanlawhill, that formerly belonged to Sir Francis Scott, beside part of these lands that pertain to the Duke of Buccleugh, 375.0.0
The lands that pertained to Craighaugh, possessed by Grizel Scott, are valued at 300.0.0
The rest of Craighaughs lands at 375.0.0

But by Act of the Commissioners, 5th June 1739, the said valued rent is divided and appointed to be stated as follows.
The lands of Raeburnfoot, Craikhaugh, Hetherdyke and Johnston-Dinnings, pertaining to George Graham of Shaw, at 528.0.0
And the lands of Johnston, at 147.0.0
Which make up the whole valued rent of 675.0.0
The lands of Albisterland and Kirkgill, valued in the Marquis of Annandale's total,
John Armstrong of Holehouse, his lands of Steill and Bankhead, 850.0.0
The lands of Dalbeathe, that pertained to Armstrong, 150.0.0
Summa of the above parishes is twenty - one thousand one hundred and sixty merks, six shillings and eight pennies Scots, 21160.6.8
