The Principall and Authentick Book of valuation Exactly Computed Calculated and Proportion'd upon, and Conforme to the Reall and distinct Rents of all Heretors Wadsetters and others lyable in payment of Cess within the shyre of Caithness, By the Commissioners Nominated and Appointed By the Commission of Parliament dated the twenty first day of January One thousand seven hundred and one years [21 Jan 1701], for revalueing of the said shyre, Which Commissioners by their Act dated att Watten the last day of Aprile in this Instant year of God one thousand seven hundred and Two [1702], not only Ratifyed and Approved This Book Consising [Consisting] of Nine pages; But also Enacted and Ordained, Conforme to the power Committed to them By the Commission of Parliament, the same to be the rule, for uplifting and Collecting of the Cess or Supply, for the future; And to prevent any Alteration, or vitiation, The saids Commissioners Ordained and Appointed Sir William Dunbar of Hempriggs their Preeses, to superscribe Each Page And Ordained and Appointed John Sinclair of Brims, James Sutherland of Langwall Patrick Dunbar of Bowarmadden William Campbell Sheriff Depute of Caithness, And Mr. Patrick Murray of Pennyland to subscribe each page And sicklike Ordained this Book to be delivered to the Clerk of the Commissioners of Supply, That it may be patent to all Concerned, And a true Extract therof to be given to the Collector.
