A Survey of the Carriage and Horse Tax in the Burgh of Peebles
from the 5th Aprile 1789 to the 5th Aprile 1790 by William Brunton Surveyor.

I William Brunton Surveyor aforesaid do hereby Certify that upon
Carefull examination of the foregoing tax I find they amount in whole
to the Sume of four pounds and ten shilling Sterling and that upon the Eighteenth
day of Demer [December] 1790 I delivered to John Hislop collector of said
taxes for the Burgh aforesaid a Copy of the above duely Compaired
which Contained my oath that requisitions were delivered to the forging
Persons that they ar lyable to pay the Sumes Set against their
Several Names.
