A Survey of the Duties on Horses Arisen in the Burgh of Fortrose
from 5th April 1787 to 5th April 1788 By Hugh MacFarquhar Surveyor

I Hugh MacFarquhar Surveyor Aforesaid, do hereby certify that upon carefull
examination of the foregoing Duties I find they Amount in whole to
One pound St [Sterling] & that upon the fifteenth day of Decr. [December] current I delivered to
Baillie Alexander Mckenzie, residing Baillie there being no Collector appointed
An exact Duplicate of the Above Acct. [Account] duly examined & compared with
the foregoing, which contained my Oath that the Above list, contained the
number of Horses kept or employed by the different Masters According to the returns
made to me or the best of my knowledge or Information
