Edinburgh 12th January 1788
I John Taitt Surveyor aforesaid, do hereby certifie
that upon carefull examination of the foregoing
several Duties, I find they amount in whole to
one hundred and Sixty three pounds Sterling
and that upon this Twelfth day of January instant
I delivered to Mr George Cranston Collector of the
Cess for said County, or his Depute at the Cess
Office in Edinburgh, an exact duplicate of
the above Account, duly examined and compared
with the foregoing in which I certified that
Requisitions were left with the several Inhabitants
or at their dwelling houses, of the dates annexed
and that they are charged with the Sums or
duties set against their several names conformly
to Returns made by themselves.
