I William Hogg Surveyor Do hereby Certify that Upon Carefull
Examination of the Foregoing Severall Rates & Dutys upon Carriage and
Saddle Horses in the Royalty of Haddington I find they Amount to
Eleven Pounds five Shillings Sterling. And that upon the 19th day of
December 1785 I delivered to Mr John Carfrae Collector of said Dutys
an Exact Duplicate of the foregoing Account duely Examined and
Compared and which Contained my Oath that the Foregoing Inhabitants
were Served with Requisitions of the date aforesaid & the Ass [Assessments]
were made out from their Answers now in my Possession or upon
Sufficient Grounds of Proof to be produced against them in the Event
of an Appeal [signed] William Hogg Survyr [Surveyor]
